Gareth Sager – Play Yr Heart Out

Gareth Sager released digital single St Jock on Friday, ahead of the new album Play Yr Heart Out which follows on 14 February 2025. It is released on peach coloured vinyl with Creeping Bent and Last Night From Glasgow. It is the sixth album Gareth Sager has released with The Creeping Bent Organisation, which was founded by Douglas MacIntyre in 1994.
The album sees Gareth Sager (lead vocals, guitars, noise, production) joined by serial Sager collaborators David Hunter/Ian Holford (drums) and Jonathan Seal/Dan Connolly (bass), with Davy Henderson guesting on vocals on select tracks. Play Yr Heart Out is a collection of reinterpreted tracks featured on Sager’s Creeping Bent discography, creating a new album that highlights the best of his avant-punk / funk sound and fury.
Gareth Sager is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and composer from Edinburgh and the founding member of post-punk provocateurs The Pop Group, avant-garde jazz / art pop collective Rip Rig & Panic and the unruly Bristol-rooted rock group Head. An industrious collaborator and a prolific solo artist in his own right, Sager has been an unremittingly restless and versatile force in the post-punk era and beyond, throughout a dynamic career of confounding originality.
Play Yr Heart Out is released on vinyl and digital formats. The peach coloured LP is pressed at Seabass Vinyl in Scotland. The album comes with a free, bonus digital album titled Oh No, No Plan B.
