June 24, 2022 (New York, NY): Today, Vancouver-born alternative artist EKKSTACY debuts his single “I Guess” off the forthcoming ‘SEE YOU NEXT YEAR’ Pigeons & Planes compilation album set to be released via Big.Ass.Kids & executive produced by legendary, multi-Grammy award-winning producer & engineer – Mike Dean. The dreamy track combines synths and guitars to create a sound that is both melodic and powerful topped by EKKSTACY’s captivating vocals. A preview of “I Guess” was featured on the Converse SYNY skate video featuring Brazilian skateboarder Kaue Cossa. The single release will be accompanied by a performance video shot and directed by Onerpm studios.
EKKSTACY’s new contribution to the compilation album follows his recently-released new single “I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING” which was accompanied by a video directed by Jason Peterson and described as a “downer hit.” The single – the first offering from a new project to come later this year – arrived right as he kicked off his extensive North American tour alongside Purity Ring, including back-to-back shows at Webster Hall & Brooklyn Steel in New York. The Vancouver artist has amassed a strong following after first emerging with his debut album NEGATIVE last year, which includes the standout single “i walk this earth all by myself” which has racked up over 25 million streams on Spotify alone. EKKSTACY started the year by releasing NEGATIVE (live), featuring live versions of several songs from his debut, and soon followed it up with a collaboration with LA-based band HEALTH “STILL BREATHING”, showing he has no signs of slowing down with what’s shaping up to be a breakout year for him.
The forthcoming ‘SEE YOU NEXT YEAR’ compilation album culls together ten of today’s culture-shifting musicians including; Brevin Kim, Baird, Fana Hues, Dreamer Isioma, EKKSTACY, Terry Presume, Redveil, Wallice, Ben Reilly, Teezo Touchdown and SASH, for a project filled with original genre-blending acoustics and memorable melodies.
