Lauran Hibberd – ‘I Don’t Like It When You Smile’
Release date 25.11.16
‘I Don’t Like It When You Smile’ due for release November 25th captures Lauran’s adoring vocal and picturesque sound. It’s achingly honest, and shows the first signs of her original folk influences taking a new spin, demonstrating her willingness to explore and add depth to her song writing. “This track reveals a true insight into my over imaginative mind, it’s about so many different things, incorporating so may different people in my life. I love how open to interpretation it is for the listener, it’s my most unsheltered song to date.’
This year has so far seen Lauran’s debut single ‘The House I Built When I Was Small’ picked up for airplay by Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music, Shell Zenner and Kathryn Tickle on ‘Amazing Radio’ and more recently Maz Tappuni on Radio X as well as ‘Soho Radio’. The single can also be heard on the in-store playlists of both Harrods and Costa and was chosen by Newton Faulkner to feature on the June playlist for ‘Richer Unsigned’. Lauran has performed at several great festivals this year including Isle of Wight Festival, Y-Not Festival and recently took to the main stage at Bestival.
“A beautiful and delicate song by Lauran Hibberd, I’m excited to hear more from her” – Maz Tappuni ‘Radio X, Communion Records’
“Lauran manages to combine a simple acoustic delicacy with something a little bolder that hints at a grander musical vision.” – Robin Seamer ‘Breaking More Waves’
