REDSHIFT
“CHAOS AS PLANNED“
So you want political music?
Or maybe not. Maybe just absolute butt shaking 21st century cosmic surf rock? Or maybe just some drag strip flat punk rock?
Why choose? You can have it all, with or without an overwhelming sense of responsibility. Because Redshift, the apocalyptic surf trio on Alternative Tentacles, are releasing their album, “Chaos as Planned”, just in time for you to throw eggs at the Orange grease stain: January 20, 2025.
That’s right, you can show up at the Capitol with the dials at ten and shout the bastard down, or at least let Redshift help. After all, the band is led by Vic Bondi, the legendary hardcore molotov maker (Articles of Faith, Jones Very, Alloy, RSA, Dead Ending), with a track record of dissent and rage that goes all the way back to Ron Reagan, backed by two virtuoso gunslingers, Mike Catts and Adam Gross, who bring their own bad attitudes to the party. They mix hardcore punk, surf, guitar rock, jazz and R&B into a spicy gumbo sure to turn your tech bro nephew into an antifa activist, or at least a goofy footed surfer with communist sympathies.
In any event, a thrilling good ride at a bad moment when all of us could use a boost above all the “Chaos as Planned”.

DEAD PIONEERS
OUT NOW!
Alternative Tentacles is proud to welcome Colorado’s Dead Pioneers to the family with the release of their new 7” “Bad Indian”! Available now in our online store and in stores everywhere on January 24th!
We’ve partnered with Hassle Records to collect three tracks from their incredible debut full length to introduce them to the world of AT. Jello Biafra describes them as “Hard Hitting, yet witty as hell,” and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome them to the family.
The 7” are in stock and pre-orders will ship by Dec. 13th.
We have the release available in classic black and a limited color vinyl available to members of the Alternative Tentacles Patreon!
Unlike the legendary punk bands of the past Dead Pioneers are here, right now and continuing to challenge the status quo and speak up for the voiceless. In a post-Albini world, that kind of integrity is more important than ever. Catch them in Europe this May with Pennywise, Propagandhi, and more!
Also check out their brand new single, “My Sprit Animal Ate Your Spirit Animal”streaming everywhere now!
Don’t miss the chance to experience this incredible band.
Watch the official music video for “Bad Indian” by Dead Pioneers! This powerful song explores themes of identity and representation in the Native American community. Don’t miss this thought-provoking and visually stunning video.
Based on Dead Pioneer’s first single, Bad Indian represents the exhaustive critique of being an Indigenous person in America. With each interaction is a question or an assumption that is rooted in American stereotypes of Native peoples. Articulated with humor, sarcasm and a healthy amount of punk driven f**k you’s, Bad Indian is a good representation of Native people not living up to the expectations given based on the perception of Indigenous existence, only to answer with Indigenous reality.
Gregg Deal – Dead Pioneers
Gregg is also a multi-disciplinary artist, activist, and “disruptor.” Through his paintings, murals, performance work, filmmaking, spoken word, and now his incredible punk rock band, Deal has worked to “honor indigenous experiences, challenge stereotypes, and push for accurate representations of Indigenous people in art” as he said in one of his two(!) TED Talks.
Today they talk about the birth of Dead Pioneers, their work with Hassle Records, how the Alternative Tentacles “Bad Indian” 7″ came to be, what the greatest character name in the Masters of the Universe is, the unique political situation we now find ourselves in, and where we go from here.
This and so much more! Don’t miss this episode! Watch the live video on our YouTube or listen wherever you stream podcasts!
