I hope you’re well and had a great weekend! I’m just reaching out with some new reggae releases I’d love to share with you.
First up we have the laid-back new single from Essex-based New Town Kings, ‘Pack Up Bye Bye’, along with the stunning new single ‘Light It Up’ from reggae royalty Morgan Heritage, taken from their critically acclaimed album ‘Strictly Roots’.
New Town Kings – ‘Pack Up Bye Bye’
Ahead of a busy summer festival schedule, Essex-based ska-reggae upstarts New Town Kings are back with a brand new single, ‘Pack Up Bye Bye’, available as a free download.
The group’s blend of old-school Jamaican rhythms with a fresh dose of UK-inspired ska has steadily earned them a reputation as one of the most exciting names in British reggae – with their sophomore album ‘M.O.J.O’ being described by Punktastic as ‘lusciously layered, crisp, sharp, and emotive’.

Their latest track is a simmering summer rocksteady tune reminiscent of the lovers’ rock of Dennis Brown. Frontman Dabs Bonner comments: “the lyric explores themes of relationship angst to the backdrop of a timeless New Town groove”.
Morgan Heritage – ‘Light It Up’
Already deemed a timeless classic, Morgan Heritage’s album, ‘Strictly Roots’, reached no. 1 on the Billboard and US iTunes Reggae Charts – and they’re set to take over the airwaves yet again with their new single ‘Light It Up’, out 31st July.
In a historical move, ‘Light it Up’ features two reggae dynasties; The Royal Family of Reggae are joined by Jo Mersa Marley, the grandson of the iconic Bob Marley and son ofStephen Marley.
Morgan Heritage say: “‘Light it Up’ talks about being a shining light in the world. We believe this light to be love. By introducing a new generation of reggae ambassadors in Jo Mersa Marley to the fusion of dubstep and roots reggae, this song really comes to life”.
