GEORGIA BASED SINGER / SONGWRITER / PRODUCER RELEASES HER SINGLE “BEEN IN LOVE”
SINGERSROOM PREMIERE (Here)
American singer-songwriter and producer, Kareen Lomax, is an emerging young talent with an unmistakable voice. Born in the suburbs of Marietta, Georgia, her surrounding environment inspired her distinctive sound, best described as alternative-soul. Her sphere of influence spans across multiple genres and contains soothing yet rich rhythms that bear similarity to Tracy Chapman and Marc E. Bassy. With lyrics that bring her story to life, Kareen uses clever wordplay and catchy melodies to take listeners on an intimate journey.
Regarding her new single, Kareen said, “Been in Love“ came at a time in my life where I wished I was somewhere else. I’ve always thought of love as an actual place two people are in instead of just an emotion, so the concept came easily and the song wrote itself in a way.”
The true purpose within Kareen’s music is to create a space for listeners to connect. It allows for acceptance, vulnerability and stereotypes to be broken. Nowhere is that more evident than on her brand new single, “Been in Love,” out today on Atlanta’s Backpack Music Label. Her third EP, “There’s a Place for Us,” is slated to be released early 2018.
“On the thought-provoking guitar-laden track, the Marietta, Georgia-born R&B songstress offers a blissful and cleverly-written ode to love and the acts carried out while in it.” – Singersroom
