Night Windows Premiere “Something Simple”
Ben Hughes is a Philadelphia area musician who has been quietly releasing music under the moniker of Night Windows for the last decade. Each song is delicately crafted to reflect the introspective nature that makes Night Windows feel so damn personal. Since the release of their 2019 album titled A Week or Two that will Sorely be Missed, Night Windows have written and recorded a follow up album and today is your first glimpse of what’s to come. “Something Simple” is an apt title for a song where the guitars and vocals were recorded in one take in a bedroom. It’s about loss and longing and when you listen to the song you can’t help but feel like you’re in the room with Ben.
“Something Simple” is premiering today at Chorus.FM and will be available on all of your preferred streaming platforms this Friday. The song is just one of thirteen tracks from their upcoming album titled In Memories that will be released on Friday, February 23rd. Where do I go from here? Everyone is getting older. I’m losing people both to death and life. I’ve written about the sadness that comes with the gift of life, but never like this. This time, I leaned as hard into the sadness as necessary in order to feel better.
