NEW ALBUM – ‘N’
RELEASED ON BLASTFIRSTPETITE – 8TH SEPTEMBER 2014
Tokyo three – piece, Nisennenmondai are set to release a new album, their first in the UK, on the blastfirstpetite label on the 8th of September 2014.
‘N’ is the bands third long player and was originally released in Japan last year on the band’s own Bijin label. Now available for the first time on vinyl, the album features three tracks lasting a total time of nearly 40 minutes and was recorded by the Nisennenmondai line up of Masako Takada (guitar), Yuri Zaikawa (bass) and drummer Sayaka Himeno.
WATCH – ‘B1’:
The three girls met at a Tokyo club near their university and formed the band soon after in 1999, taking their name from the Japanese translation of the then-current phrase ‘Year 2000 Computer Bug’. They’ve released a handful of singles and three albums on their own Bijin label, the compilation album ‘Neji/Tori’ was released by Norway’s Smalltown Supersound in 2008. One of the most intense and exciting live bands around, their raw, instrumental, but danceable sound has seen them captivate audiences in Japan and all over Europe all over the last few years.
Following their sold out appearance at Corsica Studios in May, Nisennenmondai return to London for a headline show at Birthdays in Dalston on Thursday the 31st of July. Prior to that date the band will play at the Tramlines Festival in Sheffield, the Brundell in Leeds and the Bristol Exchange, Blood Sport will be support on all shows.
