Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the NME Awards Tour 2015 with Austin, Texas returns with a bang announcing Palma Violets, Fat White Family, Slaves and The Wytches for its annual UK tour. Exclusive NME.com ticket pre-sale begins Wednesday 19 November at 9am, with general sale beginning on Friday 21 November at 9am.
The 2015 NME Awards Tour with Austin, Texas will mark two decades as the world’s most influential and trend setting music tour. Having played a crucial role in launching the careers of Coldplay, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party and countless others, the iconic tour has become pivotal in setting the music agenda for the year ahead.
Palma Violets will claim the prestigious headline spot on the tour in 2015. The Brit four-piece featured on the sold-out bill in 2013 and next year return with new material for fans, plus some old favourites such as ‘Best Of Friends’. Fat White Family are currently one of the most visceral and exciting live bands in the UK . They picked up the Philip Hall Radar Award at last year’s NME Awards for their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Champagne Holocaust’.
Hailing from Kent, Slaves have been making some noise as an unmistakably British punk act. Their raw and electrifying sets have become a staple on the underground UK music scene. Finally, last but not least, opening the prestigious NME Awards Tour with Austin, Texas are three-piece surf-psych band The Wytches.
NME editor, Mike Williams, says: “Every year this tour brings together the most breathtaking acts new music has to offer, and 2015 is no different. I think next year’s line-up showcases everything that’s great about British rock music right now, and so to have these four eclectic bands all head out on the road together in our 20th year of putting the tour on is especially thrilling.”
The NME Awards Tour 2015 with Austin, Texas kicks off in Sheffield on 19 February before travelling to Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham, Manchester, Oxford, Birmingham, Bristol, Portsmouth and finally London on 4 March.
Tickets go on pre-sale at 9am on Wednesday 19 November at http://nmem.ag/EhpgU and will be available on general sale from 9am on Friday 21 November. All tickets include a 50p donation to Teenage Cancer Trust.
