Selling out the UK’s small venues on their recent headline tour, announcing bigger rooms and further tickets due to popular demand, rising quartet October Drift share the B-side to their ‘Robots’ single, ‘Syrup’, available now on 7” vinyl.

In contrast to the crashing walls of distortion and swirling soundscapes October Drift pride their live sets on, ‘Syrup’ glows and murmurs across a three-minute swoop to newfound atmospheric territories. “It’s about waking up to that moment when you don’t quite know where you are, or even who you are, and the crash back to reality as things start to come back to you. As far as our songs go it’s definitely one of the more optimistic,” the band explains.
Despite having repeatedly sold out both their debut headline tour earlier this year, and a live stint through May, wowing audiences at packed-out Tramlines and Dot2Dot festival appearances, and with two explosive singles ‘You Are, You Are’ and ‘Whoever’ under their belts, October Drift assert themselves as an enigma in 2015. Continuing to shun social media, appearing clandestine behind ambiguous placards with mysterious balaclava-clad characters appearing through the cities they play, the band continue to communicate with their fans purely one-on-one.
With mixing duties courtesy of Dan Cox of Urchin Studios (Thurston Moore, Three Trapped Tigers, Theme Park), the band take a DIY approach to their recording, tracking everything themselves in their own studio.
Having sold out dates through York, Bristol, Taunton and more on their recent headline stint, October Drift announced a further 50 tickets for their recent Sheffield Corporation gig due to high demand.
