Oh Sleeper–Titan ( Put 9/12/2013 via Transcend Music)

For a very long time now I have had friends telling me about how good the band Oh Sleeper are and how I was stupid for not checking them out. Now I have finally gotten around to giving them a listen and I don’t feel in anyway different.

By no means not a gifted band but at the same time they are in no way reinventing the wheel. I have to say the riffs are brutal, the mix of vocal styling definitely adds character and even the mellow parts that shine through on their track Heavy Hands grab you but I can only feel like this has been done before.

I feel my opinion and view points have been due to the amount of people who have ranted about how good this band is to me over the years and I’ve been too lazy to check them out. Possibly if I had checked them out after the first person who mentioned them to me then I’d be a huge fan.

It’s similar to when you want to go see a film and all of your work colleagues big it up and continue to quote lines from it then when you eventually see the film you aren’t that impressed. Yes you enjoy it but afterwards you feel downhearted and wish that you had gotten more from it.

Yes the five tracks on this EP might have everything your standard eighteen year old with a fringe wants as they badly hardcore dance like a moron but for a man in his mid twenties I want a little something more 7/10
