New York, NY (October 3, 2025) — Today, Toronto-bred rapper Lex Leosis releases i’m a little sensitive, the first in a three-part EP series, out now alongside a short-film trailer – watch + share on YouTube.
Known for her dynamic flows, and commanding stage presence, Lex has built her reputation on confidence and bravado. But with i’m a little sensitive, she turns inward, exploring the vulnerabilities, insecurities, and quiet truths that often sit behind the loudest voice in the room.
“‘i’m a little sensitive’ is me stripping back the bravado and letting people hear the insecurities I usually keep to myself,” notes Lex. ”It’s about owning the parts of me I once tried to hide.”
The opening line to i’m a little sensitive sets the tone for the project. “I can’t ignore that my most liked posts are when my titties pushed up, sitting in focus, if I’m in a hoodie then you might not notice, the nerves creepin’ on me, it’s a slight neurosis.”
Across three tracks, Lex reflects on what it means to grow up standing out instead of fitting in. At 6’2”, with a deep voice and wild curls, she never felt like she blended into the mold, and spent years trying to make herself smaller. On “insecure”, she reclaims that discomfort, choosing to stand tall and proud. On “sayso”, she dedicates the anthem to recovering people pleasers, especially women and queer folks who’ve carried the weight of others, learning instead to build boundaries and reclaim space. And on “theweeds”, she leans into joy and freedom, delivering an underdog anthem full of braggadocio and self-assurance – a playful counterbalance to the EP’s heavier themes.
Discussing the trailer, Lex adds, “We worked with an incredibly talented team led by Toronto-based director and cinematographer, Anyo, to bring this project to life. The video is full of hidden imagery tied to the music, like the red backdrop with a splash of white on the ground, symbolizing the way I’ve boxed myself in. We really wanted to bring the full EP to life, which is why we went with the trailer style, incorporating elements of all the songs from the project into the video.“
Raised in Toronto’s West End, Lex sharpened her craft in rap battles, cyphers, and online rap communities before traveling across North America to collaborate and perform. Now travelling often to Los Angeles, she continues to expand her artistry alongside a community of forward-thinking peers, pushing her sound and her story to new heights.
