Oscar and the Wolf is the alter ego, cause celebre and raison d’etre  of one Max Colombie  who  thrives as their sonic and visual aesthetic  is fully realised..

Recent visitors to these shores and witness to a  couple of  breakthrough shows , Oscar and the Wolf  are no strangers to success in  their native Belgium – the  debut album ‘Entity’  is already a big hit, battling it out with Coldplay and Stromae at the business end of the Top 5 creating a sensation across various media, attracting the attention of  none other than Mario Testino and the European style press.

As Colombie  says himself : “the track is the name I had for myself and the  boys in my live band”  and  proven to be something of a phenomenon that has seen Europe embrace the band . The track on release in Belgium broke into  the Top 20 and has remained on the chart  for  nearly six months , topping the airplay charts and  propelling  Oscar and the Wolf  to a nation’s heart  whilst accruing nearly 700,000  views  for the accompanying video.

The summer has seen a diary of sold out club shows throughout Europe, various festival appearances – which latterly saw them  moved  up the bill to a headline slot  at the recent Pukkelpop festival  enthralling a packed crowd with over subscribed appearances at Holland’s Lowlands and Belgium’s Werchter festivals only adding to the  burgeoning anticipation.

Autumn will see the Colombie and his ‘Princes’  headline Ancienne Belgique in their adopted home city of Brussels and merely caps what  has been a staggering 2014,  with  little sign of slowing up.
