Osric Tentacles – Jurassic Shift

Osric Tentacles – Jurassic Shift

Formed at the 1983 Stonehenge Free Festival, Osric Tentacles took their name from an imaginary breakfast cereal.

‘Jurassic Shift’ is the band’s 5th LP since the Tentacles formed their own record  label, Dovetail. Although this album count doesn’t include old classics like the 1985 cassette ‘Tantric Obstacles’ and 1988’s ‘Sliding Gilding Worlds’ this is the best Osric LP I have heard to date, certainly a lot better than ‘Strangitude’. ‘Psychedelic and imaginative, ‘Jurassic Shift’ has the distinctive Osric psychedelic rock/jazz sound. More expansive and expressive. 7.8/10
