Out Now: Mina Tindle Releases ‘Compass Rosa’ Expanded Version Today

Today, French indie folk artist Mina Tindle shares Compass Rosa (Expanded Edition), on Paris-based label s76. 

The expanded version features three new tracks: the sisterhood anthem “Ladies”, released in April; “Chant Andalou”; and “My Light”, an ethereal, cinematic ballad created with her friend and longtime collaborator Sufjan Stevens. Written for someone close to her navigating grief, the song captures the shockwave of loss — that moment when everything feels unsteady. Through small, everyday moments and quiet emotion, it turns memory into light: a fragile compass for finding your way forward.

Compass Rosa— originally released November 14, 2025 via s76, a luminous and introspective new album and her first since 2020’s SISTER — already saw her reconnect with Sufjan Stevens on multiple tracks, culminating in the duet “Heaven Thunder” which Paste Magazine deemed sounds “like it could have wedged itself onto The Age of Adz”. 

Compass Rosa was recorded in five days at David Chalmin’s studio, following an intimate writing retreat by Mina Tindle and her husband, Bryce Dessner (The National). The lyrics and melodies came to Tindle naturally — still deeply personal, yet more immediate than ever. The album was then completed by precious collaborations, highlighting its depth and delicacy: Sufjan Stevens’ voice brings a unique radiance, the string arrangements composed by Bryce Dessner are performed with great sensitivity by the Quatuor Zaïde, while Ben Lanz(The National, Beirut) contributes drums and synths, lending an orchestral dimension to Mina Tindle’s personal folk sound.

Beginning earlier this year, Mina Tindle also launched a mini Europe tour in celebration of the new record with shows in Germany, Luxembourg, and France; peaking at the iconic music theater Le Trianon in Paris with guest performances from Matt Berninger, Bryce and Aaron Dessner from The National, This is the Kit, and more.
