OUTFIT PREMIERE NEW VIDEO FOR “FRAMED” WITH THE GUARDIAN
NEW ALBUM SLOWNESS OUT NOW ON MEMPHIS INDUSTRIES; FULL UK TOUR CONFIRMED FOR SEPTEMBER
Outfit have unveiled a stunning new film for current single “Framed.” Premiered today by The Guardian – who praised the way it “captures a moment of reflection following a particularly poignant dream via the mystery of monochrome, twins and a room packed with mirrors” – it was directed by Sam and Andrew of Studio Zongo. “For us, “Framed” encapsulates Outfit’s identity and sound,” they explain. “Our aim was to visually reflect the bittersweet melancholy of the track, exploring the idea of different ‘versions’ of a person.”

The song “Framed,” a mainstay of BBC Radio 6 Music’s playlist for several weeks, is the centerpiece of new album Slowness, released last month on Memphis Industries. “It’s about a dream where you see the person you love living another life, an alternate reality without you in it,” says the band’s Andrew P. Hunt. “You’re walking down the street and you look through a window and see them surrounded by other things, other people and suddenly they’re different and you’re different. It’s about something uncanny completely flipping your perspective.”
Outfit recently announced a full UK & EU tour in support of their forthcoming second album Slowness. They’re set to play Latitude Festival this Friday, before preparing for headline shows across the country and continent in September, culminating in a show at London’s Electrowerkz on the 21st.

At the beginning of last year, Outfit found themselves scattered across two countries and three cities, separated by life and love from each other and from those closest to them. Slowness, their second record, is the sound of its five members snatching intensive weeks to plant themselves in one place, with the tensions of touring, moving, and transatlantic relationships still weighing heavy in mind, to create an album with bold presence.

Slowness paints a portrait of distance using haunting piano, piercing synthesizers and guitars, all underpinned by Outfit’s trademark rhythm section. It dwells on physical distance between lovers, the emotional distance when we return, and the ways in which we imagine each other thousands of miles apart.
