Band Announces East Coast Headline Tour

On the eve of Palehound’s UK release of Dry Food on Heavenly Records (March 4), the band has released a new music video for “Molly”. Directed by Lara Jean Gallagher and Brian Kinkley, the video follows the surreal (and slightly tragic) story of EggGuy, and the woman who eventually eats him. The video debuted on Stereogum today

“EggGuy was concocted during a late morning brunch mishap,” explains the directing duo. “We wanted to explore the frailty of life, what it means to have consciousness, and how much we could care about a pair of eyeballs. “Molly” has just the right amount of weird sweetness to make this all seem really fun.”
“Dry Food confronts the point it’s been evading: kidding yourself is no way to recover, and comfort offers little impetus to move on. Palehound’s discomfiting, unflinching debut suggests she knew it all along.”
Pitchfork, 8.0 review

“antsy and ambivalently sexy”
Rolling Stone, 4-star review

“… a dynamic new artist capable of embodying wide-eyed empathy and the all-consuming yearn of youth, while still demonstrating wisdom beyond her years. The most exciting part of all: Palehound is only beginning.”
NPR, First Listen

“The way some people have a way with words, Palehound singer/songwriter Ellen Kempner has a way with a guitar: Looped lines tumble out in the knotty configurations worthy of a sailor’s handiwork, or maybe of academic writing.”
SPIN, Album Of The Week
Fronted by 21-year-old songwriter and  guitar mastermind, Ellen Kempner, Palehound released their debut album, Dry Food, the US last summer, landing them on “Best Of 2015” lists with NPR, VICE’s Noisey, Paste Magazine, The Observer, Consequence Of Sound, The Boston Globe, The Austin Chronicle + many more.

Since the album release last August, the band has toured virtually non-stop with Torres, Bully, Mitski, PWRBTTM and a variety of other bands, developing a ferocious live set in the process. They are currently in the midst of their first tour of the UK and Europe, and will hit the road again in May for their first headline tour of the East Coast.
