PATTERSON HOOD PENS NEW YORK TIMES OP-ED ON CONFEDERATE FLAG; READ IT HERE
DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS TO RELEASE LIVE ALBUM THIS FALL
“It’s time to quit rallying around a flag that divides. And it is time for the South to – dare I say it? – rise up and show our nation what a beautiful place our region is, and what more it could become.” – Patterson Hood
Shining even more of a light on the recent news surrounding the controversial Confederate flag and that it has now been taken down from the South Carolina state capitol, born and bred Southern musician Patterson Hood penned an insightful essay on the topic for New York Times Magazine. It is available online HERE.
“Drive-By Truckers front man Patterson Hood did the South proud today,” declared Stereogum, one of many music news sites to share the op-ed. “His piece is a love letter to the South, but also a rallying cry.”
Drive-By Truckers is also currently putting its finishing touches on a special five LP / three CD deluxe live album with producer David Barbe, recorded at the historic Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco; more details will be released soon.
