Today, the UK’s most exciting young live band Peace, announce five new dates to their spring tour, which has seen seven dates sell out already. The tour runs throughout January, February and March 2015. The band leapt into the hearts of the public with their joyously escapist debut album ‘In Love’ in 2013. Their heart-on-sleeve indie anthemics, impulsive and charismatic frontman Harry Kossier, and knack for writing a genuine song hook swiftly saw the colourful Birmingham four piece grace every tastemaker music front cover, play two sold out Shepherds Bush Empires shows, and pop a top 20 debut album in their back pocket. Even Usher elbowed his way through the crowds to watch their debut Sxsw showcase.
Whether it’s down to attention deficit or due to a restless appetite for music, sound and songwriting, there is a glorious sense of adventure to the midland four-piece’s anticipated second record, which is due for release in Feb 2014. Some of this exploratory feeling might be traced to the world opening up for singer Harrison Koisser, his brother Samuel (bass), Douglas Castle (guitar) and Dominic Boyce (drums). Hailing from various towns in the Midlands and formed in Birmingham in 2010, the band swiftly earned themselves a reputation for their exhilarating live performances, for a fervor and a fire, as well as for audiences that would chant back choruses while Koisser, one of music’s most compelling frontmen, relished “the rush of making up the verses on the spot”. The infamous live shows were born out of a tech house night at ‘The Rainbow’ in Birmingham, where Peace played relentlessly month upon month, slipping in the odd house music cover and garnering an army of fans as they went.
The UK tour will take place over Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights around the country. The band will be making a special announcement about a London show next week. The UK tour follows a stint on the road with Bombay Bicycle Club – Peace are main support to the London four-piece on their UK tour this November and December, culminating in an arena show at London Earl’s Court.
