Having created what can only be described as a sort of mania amongst Britain’s indie-youth with the release of their second album, Happy People, in February, Peace today release the video for their latest single ‘Gen Strange’, due to impact 22nd June.
Peace fan Peter Crouch makes his acting debut in a David and Goliath story that sees The Toadz (Peace’s rebellious band-alter ego) take on Crouch and his cronies after the Premier League footballer shouts “emo” at Harry. Peace exact revenge on Crouchie et al before tearing up the countryside on scooters and sugary drinks in true Peace style.

It’s been a hectic start to the year for the band who completed a 29 date tour of the UK selling over 10,000 tickets in March and with a string of shows announced for September/October, as well as festival dates confirmed for Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, T in the Park and Liverpool Sound City, 2015 doesn’t seem to be slowing down for them.

Peace’s affiliation with the youth of today is no better exemplified than at these frenzied live shows.  Waves of eager crowd-surfers routinely climb over security fences and audiences sway in sync, all vying to get as close to the alluring singer and songwriter Harry Kossier as possible.  Sing-alongs and circle pits are mandatory, plus unexpected renditions of songs like Led Zeppelin’s ‘Since I’ve Been Loving You’ and old favourite, a rework of trance anthem ‘1998’ by Binary Finary.
On ‘Gen Strange’, Harry delves into the relationship between the people of this generation and the technology that is so imposing on day-to-day lives.  The song couples together Harry’s inquisitive and self-reflective song-writing style with his ability to personify punchy Britpop hooks and choruses.

This Summer will see Harry (vocals/Guitar), Sam (Bass), Doug (Guitar) and Dom (Drums) bring their jovial energy, and hoards of loyal fans, to the festival calendar, with shows at Reading & Leeds, T In The Park and Liverpool Sound City all confirmed so far, and a major UK tour in Sept/October.
