PENETRATION : August 2016 events in continuing promotion of ‘Resolution’ album
The autumn of 2015 saw first generation punk act Penetration release their third studio album, ‘Resolution’, 36 years after the group initially split. It received unanimous critical praise, with the singles ‘Just Drifting’ and ‘Beat Goes On’ also attracting airplay across the BBC radio network.
The year ended with ‘Resolution’ voted no. 2 Album Of The Year by Vive Le Rock magazine and the band’s back catalogue reissued and positively reassessed in ’The Virgin Years’ box set.
Having performed an initial run of live dates to support the release of ‘Resolution’, Penetration played a further short UK tour in the spring followed by a barnstorming set at the Camden Rocks festival in early June, treating a large mid-afternoon gathering at the Electric Ballroom to a pulsating trip through the years. Vocalist Pauline Murray has also participated in various events surrounding the 40th Anniversary of Punk, including a panel discussion at the British Library, plus several documentaries.
