Following the recent [PIAS] Nites at Brighton’s Great Escape Festival featuring The Parrots, Twin Wild, Thomas Cohen and Anna Of The North, [PIAS] and Rockfeedback in association with Amazing Radio are pleased to announce the first in a series of bi-monthly events on 22nd June at The Lexington.
Three labels represented by three different artists shows the diversity of the [PIAS] family, once again providing an exciting line-up that sees Moshi Moshi’s Happyness hook up with Play It Again Sam’s Warhaus and 37 Adventures’ J Churcher at one of London’s best loved venues.
With few sightings under his belt, enigmatic Londoner J Churcher arrives laden with sumptuous tones, evoking memories of Mazzy Star and (at times) The Jesus and Mary Chain, his debut album is slated for later this year. Warhaus, the artistic alter ego and solo recording project of Maarten Devoldere – (who along with Jinte Deprez) fronts Belgian rock band Balthazar, follows his recent UK live debut at The Great Escape whilst pre-empting his debut album We Fucked A Flame Into Being on September 2nd. Following their recent return with new track SB’s Truck, the finale comes courtesy of Happyness and their wry, observational fuzzy pop, alternately thrilling and charming. It follows the band’s short run of UK / Irish with The Dandy Warhols in May and in advance of their highly anticipated second album.
