[PIAS NITES] presents Other Lives, BC Camplight and Bernard + Edith
Oslo, London 23.04.15
Following the recent success of the inaugural [PIAS] Nites in the UK, [PIAS] the record company and promoters Rockfeedback are pleased to announce news of the second [PIAS] Nites at Oslo in London on 23rd April 2015.
Already a mainstay in mainland Europe, the event is set to mark its place on the UK’s live itinerary and once more, celebrates the diversity of [PIAS] and it’s extended artist and label family with representation from Bella Union and Play It Again Sam promising a night of musical highs.
Portland based Other Lives return to London on the eve of their much-anticipated third album ‘Rituals’. Of the new album, Jessie Tabbish says “we’re still trying to retain the past of our musical palate whilst really trying to stretch ourselves into a new type of music” – it not only marks a new chapter but encapsulates their relentless drive for precision. Exquisite musical soundscapes evoke a magical and mood-laden charm that glide seamlessly into an expansive, seductive, sometimes haunting, wide screen orchestration that entice Tabbish’s vocals to the fore – creating a truly wonderful collection of songs

Having made Manchester his adopted home Bella Union’s BC Camplight – the alter ego of American songwriter Brian Christinzio – revels in a fantastically rich, stylistically and diverse musical backdrop. From Sixties sunshine pop, blue-eyed soul to speedy surf-pop or psychedelic showstoppers that takes in part Nilsson, part Broadway spectacular this sublime talent arrives on the back of his recently released and intriguingly titled ‘How To Die In The North’ album.

Taking their name from their combined middle names and firmly established in the city’s underground music scene, the duo draw on various influences, the resultant works evoke an aura of intimacy and sensuality with something more mysterious and spectral.
