[PIAS] Nites in association with Rockfeedback and Amazing Radio are pleased to announce the first event of 2017 featuring Songhoy Blues and Témé Tan.
This date marks a special, low key return to the live scene for Mali’s musical exports, Songhoy Blues with Brussels –based Témé Tan as guests to provide a unique show featuring two distinctive artists from across the diverse roster at [PIAS]
Songhoy Blues came to the fore with their contribution to Damon Albarn’s Africa Express, consequently cementing their status and reputation outside of their homeland. Blending the traditional and modern, the homegrown and the foreign, the young quartet plumb their ancient culture revealing a sensational output whilst propelling Songhoy Blues as serious contenders on a world stage. This show comes ahead of new material due for release later this year through Transgressive.
Support comes in the shape of Témé Tan, the musical alias of multi-instrumentalist and producer Tanguy Haesvorts. Of Congolese descent and spending much of his youth between Kinshasa and Brussels, inspired by his global travels and Influenced by an array of artists he emerges with a blend of minimalist grooves, electronic beats and seductive harmonies.
