ANNOUNCE DETAILS OF NEW ALBUM ‘CREATION’ RELEASED JUNE 2ND
‘BELIEVE IN ME’ EP OUT NOW
JUNE UK YOUR DATES CONFIRMED
To coincide with the release their forthcoming album ‘Creation’; The Pierces have announced details of two headline dates London and Manchester in June.
Allison and Catherine Pierce recently returned with a stunning new song ‘Kings’ taken from their new EP ‘Believe In Me’. ‘Kings’ is a mesmeric leap forward for the duo, whilst also carrying the harmonic hallmarks of their past work. With its soaring chorus and syncopated, swaggering groove, it revolves around the sort of indelible hook that crowds holler along to at the top of their lungs at festivals. “If we want to/We could do what kings do,” the sisters sing, sounding emboldened and ready to embrace the next stage of their career.
And why shouldn’t they? Their 2011 album ‘You & I’ made the Alabama-born siblings stars. They had released three albums by that point, over which they honed their melodic, folk-tinged indie-pop. Their fourth album propelled them to new heights. Featuring huge radio hits such as ‘You’ll Be Mine’, ‘Glorious’ and ‘It Will Not Be Forgotten’, it entered the UK charts at number four and embarked on a long stay in the Top 20. The band followed it up with extensive touring and feted appearances at a number of festivals.
After all that touring, there was a brief period where the sisters were living on opposite sides of the world: Allison shuttling between London and New York and Catherine leaving New York and settling in Los Angeles. After Allison moved to LA too, both entered a prolific creative phase that sowed the seeds for their new record. ‘Creation’ was produced in its entirety by guitarist Christian “Leggy” Langdon, the group’s on-tour musical director. As the album’s title suggests, it marks a brave new dawn for The Pierces. They have followed up their biggest success with their most life-affirming work yet.
The Pierces will be coming to the following venues in June:
Wed 11-Jun-2014 – London KOKO £17.50
Thu 12-Jun-2014 – Manchester Club Academy – £15.00
