PINS unveil "Trouble" video ahead of RSD
PINS PREMIERE NEW SONG AND VIDEO VIA TLOBF
“TROUBLE” RELEASED ON LIMITED RED 10″ VINYL FOR RECORD STORE DAY
“Terrific songwriting – a confident step forward” – The Observer
“The confident sound of a band exploring and developing” – The Quietus
Manchester five-piece PINS recently announced details of a brand new 10″, set for release tomorrow on Record Store Day (via Bella Union). Today, they’ve premiered the glitchy, distorted, video for “Trouble.”
“Sarah Jenny Johnson and Olivier Richomme have directed the clip, which is shot in striking black and white and full of intense close ups, which only serve to heighten the song’s sultry nature,” said TLOBF, who premiered the video.
The limited-edition red 10” vinyl release will also feature “I’ll Get Mine” – another brand new track – and a remix of “Trouble” by fellow Manchester band Bernard + Edith. “Trouble” was recorded at Strangeway Studios with Martin Hurley and Daniel Broomhall, the place where the band recorded their first EP four years ago.
Faith Vern: “There is a nice symmetry to it – we travelled to the other side of the earth to record our last album, toured here there and everywhere then ended up back at home in Manchester. It was weird to stand in the same spot to sing, thinking about everything that had happened between then and now. “Trouble” was written quickly in our rehearsal room. Lois played this Cramps-esque guitar part and we built it up from there – I thought the music was filthy and deserved some sexy words.”
Last year, PINS released second album Wild Nights via Bella Union to much acclaim. 2015 was also defined by a packed out touring schedule for the band supporting the likes of Sleater-Kinney, Drenge, Wire, Best Coast, Gang Of Four and Stealing Sheep.
So far in 2016, the band have already completed another UK and European headline tour, as well as performing numerous times at SXSW. They’re currently supporting The Subways on their US tour
