“Ambition and reinvention…reimagining classic UK club genres for a new, passionate generation of ravers” NME
“Pure musical escapism…both suspends and turns back time” Sunday Times, Breaking Act
“Sweet, poppy and very much addictive…Piri & Tommy are quickly cementing themselves as a duo to watch out for” Complex
“They throw Gen Z eyes on a much-celebrated genre, splicing and dicing it into the ears of eager new listeners” Dork, 5/5
Hotly-tipped duo piri & tommy have today launched froge.tv, a visual track-by-track series with YouTube Shorts accompanying their acclaimed debut mixtape, froge.mp3 – which just went top 10 on the Spotify debut album chart on release-week, and features latest single ‘on & on’.
piri & tommy continue their quickly-rising, Ones to Watch status with the news that they have been named one of VEVO DSCVR’s Artists to Watch for 2023, alongside being annnounced for The Student Radio Class of 2023 this week. Their sold out headline tour begins this week, and includes their second London headline show thus far at Scala on November 8th addition to appearances at Pitchfork Paris and Manchester Warehouse Project.
An affecting, playful and eclectic body of work, froge.mp3 soundtracks not only piri & tommy’s remarkable journey thus far. It’s also a vivid snapshot of British pop and youth culture right now, in all its excitement, uncertainty and euphoria. Channelling universal sounds and stories as they’ve evolved, in real-time, over the pandemic, their first project also finds piri & tommy at the front of a thrilling new wave in UK pop music.
Having met over DM and been thrown together in a student-house bubble during lockdown, piri & tommy have since amassed co-signs ranging from Charli XCX, Bella Hadid and Bimini to Rebecca Black and PinkPantheress, as well as surpassing a staggering 170 million TikTok views and seeing their first live shows end in stage invasions. Assimilating everything from the DIY Dance explosion online to their generation’s relationship with nostalgia – both, as exploded by the pandemic – the duo mix genre-wide influences from Kaytranada and Disclosure to Doja Cat and Red Velvet. Lyrically exploring everything from that awkward crush (‘soft spot’) to that first summer of freedom (‘on & on’), as well as that transition into something more more meaningful (‘words’), froge.mp3 is the no-filter story of piri & tommy so far…but it’s also just the start of their story to come.
