Poolside’s ‘Pacific Standard Time’ Gets UK Release 3rd December, Download Mixtape + Stream Album Tracks
Poolside aka Filip Nikolic and Jeffrey Paradise are good friends who are inspired by California, mezcal, dancing, good food, and friends. Filip is a Danish producer now living in LA who also plays bass in Ima Robot; Jeffrey throws the infamous Blow Up parties in San Francisco and used to be in the hardwave band The Calculators with Luke and Vito from The Rapture.
Their debut album ‘Pacific Standard Time’ gets it’s official UK release on the 3rd December via Day and Night Recordings on cd and coloured double vinyl. Originally released in the States in July, this 16-track disco party is a pure snapshot of sun-dappled Californian good times, bound to brighten up the gloomiest Autumn day.
Stream album highlight ‘Harvest Moon’, a breezy rework of the Neil Young classic no less:
Whilst on the road supporting Bonde Do Role and Com Truise in the USA, Poolside made this ‘Seasons Change’ mixtape, featured below.
Poolside’s debut single ‘Do You Believe?’ was charted by Todd Terje, Dimitri From Paris and The Magician, prompting Dazed & Confused to praise the song for its “pop-tinged disco, brimming with optimistic vocals and retro acid synths,” while NME lauded its “supremely casual decadence.”
The follow-up, ‘Take Me Home’, was featured as the opening track first song on Aeroplane’s ‘In Flight Entertainment’ compilation.
