Pre-Order: Castor – Moving Backgrounds
Two albums, compiled together and on vinyl for the first time!
Castor arrived in 1994 just as fellow Champaign-Urbana, IL, bands Hum and Braid broke through and rose to prominence. While Hum and Braid redefined their respective genres, Castor took an experimental approach to slow-core indie on their self-titled debut and eventually landed on post-shoegaze rock with the sophomore album Tracking Sounds Alone.
Spanning 22 tracks, Moving Backgrounds features re-mastered versions of both full-length albums as well as five bonus tracks on 180-Gram Clear Orange and Clear vinyl – all housed in super deluxe packaging (gatefold jacket, printed sleeves, two double-sided inserts).
This release is a truly special and fitting commemoration of a group that rubbed shoulders with some of the late-90’s most influential bands.
