PROTOMARTYR UK TOUR STARTS ON SUNDAY

Album ‘Under Color of Official Right’ out now on Hardly Art

“They play punk, but these Detroiters manage to sound as if they’re not cribbing – individual and exciting stuff.” The Guardian

One of, if not the most exciting thing we saw at SXSW this year, Protomartyr are a force to be reckoned with live. Singer Joe Casey drawls and snarls into the microphone, one hand in the trouser pocket of his shabby two piece suit, while after each track nodding his head an exclaiming “not too bad”.

Protomartyr’s economical rock elicits comparisons to possible antecedents like Pere Ubu or The Fall, whereas guitarist Greg Ahee weaves hints of Felt and Gang Of Four over the top… now how can you miss that.

17 August – Brixton Windmill, London
18 August – Fallow Cafe, Manchester VENUE CHANGE
19 August – The Lexington, London
20 August – Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
