Stereogum says of the video, “Last week Sub Pop reissued P**sed Jeans’ 2005 debut album Shallow, and today that album’s brilliant “Boring Girls” gets a highly entertaining video by director Joe Stakun…This time out Stakun has created a surreal dream scenario involving a pathetic schlub, described by the director as Full House meets Twin Peaks. The schlub is played by Clay Tatum, and his date is Laura Simpson, Jennifer Lawrence’s friend who broke her fall at the Oscars. Conceptually this is a trip, and it’s visually striking too; shout out to those balloons (see premiere October 16th).”

Having already played a handful of dates in the UK, P**sed Jeans kick off a short run of US dates on 1st November in Seattle, ending in Austin on 9th November at Fun Fun Fun Fest.

Shallow features the original outing’s 8 songs, as well as the bonus tracks “Throbbing Organ” and “Night Minutes” from their first single. All songs were originally available via the Parts Unknown label during 2004 and 2005, and have been remastered for this release.
Shallow is now available for purchase through the Sub Pop Mega Mart, Tunes and Amazon. Fans who purchase the LP version of Shallow via megamart.subpop.com will receive the limited “Loser Edition” of the album on neon yellow colored vinyl (while supplies last), the “Throbbing Organ” 7” and an immediate download of the entire album.

What People Are Saying About P**sed Jeans’ Shallow:

“Frontman Matt Korvette’s uncanny superpower—to turn the drudgery of everyday life into the stuff of absurdist theater—has become honed over the years, but it was already strong on P**sed Jeans’ first album.” –  Pitchfork

“Everywhere you turn on Shallow, P**sed Jeans slap you in the face with a fantastic riff.” –The Line of Best Fit

Shallow is aurally thunderous – demonstrably a product of the modern hardcore scene, but sounding like it’s dead set on brutality via guitar tone. A case could be made for its ancestry being found in Blue Cheer, Void, My Bloody Valentine, Brainbombs or Landed, despite P**sed Jeans sounding little like any of those bands. ‘Wachovia’, the final song on the album, is a largely vocal-free showcase for guitarist Bradley Fry (who was, at the time, also wrestling in a small regional division called Chikara) to unleash meteor storms of strobing psychedelic axe-murder.” [9/10] – Drowned in Sound
