Today, London-via-Australia quartet Tempesst are sharing a stunning video for new single ‘Feel Better’. Directed by the band’s Andy Banjanin – the video follows the four band members on a kaleidoscopic journey of self-discovery: eating some forbidden fruit, descending down into “hell”, before rising up again, into “heaven”. Premiering over on Notion Magazine a moment ago, you can watch the new video below.

Speaking on the lyrical inspiration behind new single ‘Feel Better’, frontman Toma Banjanin explained: “I wrote ‘Feel Better’ about the mindless rhythm of working all week and then partying all weekend. A lot of my friends and I have done it for years. Each month just blurs into a series of highs and lows. I guess I wrote this song about realising the monotony of it all. It’s actually a bit sad when you think about it.”
A new chapter in the Tempesst story, the Adult Wonderland EP marks a confident stride forward for the band.
The first single from the EP, ‘Waiheke’, stood tall as an apt first taster, with support coming in from The Line Of Best Fit (“a masterpiece of swirling, tidal music”), DIY Magazine (“swirling folk”), Clash Magazine (“Languid songwriting with a real vein of psychedelia”) – guitars lilted delicately amidst the swaying rhythm section, as Toma sang of the… “first light in the morning” and “sugar coated later days”. The push and pull of the expansive vocal harmonies and soothing instrumentals give the track an extremely pleasing dreamy, psychedelic quality; clearly a songwriting process carefully prepared and planned by the quartet.
It’s been a big 12 months or so for Tempesst – led by brothers Toma (vocals, guitars) and Andy Banjanin (drums), and joined by Eric Weber (guitars) and Kane Reynolds (keys) – the band’s back-to-back showcases (The Great Escape, NME Awards, Live At Leeds), festivals (Bushstock, Southsea Fest, Hackney Wonderland) and live dates alongside Mystery Jets, The Veils, Albert Hammond Jr and GUM (Jay Watson, Tame Impala) have propelled them into the spotlight. Fresh from their biggest London headline to date at The Moth Club, Tempesst saw out 2016 with a UK Tour in support of The Temper Trap.
The release of their much-anticipated debut EP ‘Adult Wonderland’ today came with the announcement of a string of UK headline dates this December. They continue to climb the proverbial ladder; hotly tipped, ones-to-watch-listed and publicly adored by the likes of Noisey, DIY, NME, Drowned In Sound, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash Magazine, BBC Radio 6 Music (Lauren Laverne), Radio X (Maz Tappuni, Communion Presents) and triple j.
