About the Taste of Rum Festival

The “Taste of Rum” tour is an extension of Puerto Rico’s flagship event, the annual “Taste of Rum” Festival. Started in 2009, it is Puerto Rico’s official rum festival, sponsored by the Rums of Puerto Rico Program. The event offers rum-lovers a chance to taste a wide variety of Puerto Rican rums, food, and local entertainment amid the magnificent backdrop of the Paseo de La Princesa, on the beautifully restored San Juan Waterfront. The promenade sweeps from the cruise piers to La Princesa, a restored 19th-century prison, an architectural gem replete with huge mahogany doors, impressive arcades, polished floors, and elegant appointments that is now home to the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.

“Rums of Puerto Rico is pleased to be the Presenting Sponsor of the Taste of Rum Tour,” said Barbara Velez, Director of the Rums of Puerto Rico Program.  “This tour showcases everything Puerto Rico has to offer…the sights, sounds, tastes and, of course, the finest rums in the world.  With the help of AYS World, Federico Hernandez and our friends at Puerto Rico Tourism, we have assembled an outstanding team that is sure to make the Taste of Rum Tour a highly anticipated annual event in each city we visit.  We hope you will join us!”
