Released alongside the New York Turks latest album, the Red Aunts (pronounced ants) follow-up their ‘Number One Chicken album with the 14-track shorter 23 minutes of ‘Saltbox’. Unlike its predecessor this is a far more accessible release. The lyrics are clearly audible, the foul language gone, with the production nearly radio-friendly. But this is their best release to date.

Musically it’s somewhere between Bikini Kill, Gang Of Four and Kenickie. ‘Saltbox’ is original and wonderful 8.4/10
