Rejjie Snow (aka Alex Anyaegbunam) is streaming his new single ‘Keep Your Head Up’ fresh off the back of it being premiered by Annie Mac on Radio 1 last night.
Following the release of his late 2015 acclaimed collaboration with Kaytranada on single ‘Blakkst Skn’, Rejjie Snow is back with new single ‘Keep Your Head Up’; a track that leans towards the laid back flow of last years ‘All Around the World’, rather than the bounce of his last single.
Born in Dublin the young emcee has been rhyming since he was a kid, but it wasn’t until he relocated to Georgia, U.S.A – on a football scholarship – at the age of 17 that things shifted and became music focused and he dropped his first mixtape/e.p, Rejovich; introducing the world to his surreal, Irish-American villainous flow.
With Rejovich amassing over 6.4 million combined plays, knocking Kanye’s Yeezus of the iTunes hip hop chart and seeing him support the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus and MF Doom, Snow went on a self-imposed hiatus from music altogether for two years; returning last July with the brooding ‘All Around the World’ produced by Cam O’bi (Chance The Rapper). The video of which had more than 500,000 views in its first week and stared Lily Rose Depp. This saw the start of a build for Snow during the latter half of 2015. Going on to support Action Bronson and Madonna on tour, sell out London’s Scala in 24hours and release the acclaimed ‘Blakkst Skn’, featuring Rae Morris with its video being directed by Ian Pons Jewell (Vince Staples, NAO, DJ Shadow). And support from the likes of The Fader to Dazed and Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Beat’s Zane Lowe.
Now at the start of 2016 Rejjie Snow will release his latest single ‘Keep Your Head Up’ through Honeymoon. Snow took to the stage for a sold-out show at London’s KOKO on March 23rd and has announced a new date at Gorilla, Manchester on Saturday 21st May.
