REMMI Releases New Video

December 22, 2015 (Nashville, TN) — Following the release of the latest Nashville Indie Spotlight compilation, out November 20th, electronic/pop artist REMMI has released her music video for “Awake, Asleep.” Premiering this week along with an interview at New York Minute Magazine, REMMI discusses her 2015 collaborations with Lucian, CAPPA, and Black Coast, as well as the struggles of pursuing music as a profession.
REMMI (A.K.A. Rachel Smith) tells us, “Living in Nashville, I’ve realized there are more incredibly talented people than I could have imagined. People don’t ‘make it’ because they are more talented than everyone else… talented people have careers in music because they can deal with the emotional and financial stress of pushing through the early years.”

“From the depths of a rolling, full sonic landscape, REMMI’s voice doesn’t just sing– it also speaks. It’s a sort of postmodern reversal that gives her songs an immediate attachment to their lyrical content.”
Jon Karr of New York Minute Magazine

REMMI’s track “Awake, Asleep” can be found on her debut EP, New America, and on this year’s Nashville Indie Spotlight compilation. Released by Tone Tree Music, this latest Nashville Indie Spotlight album features 24 songs from 24 independent artists, and is now available for purchase and streaming at all digital services.
Nashville Indie Spotlight has released four albums each of the last four years, showcasing 101 songs from independent Nashville artists. “It is all about community,” says Shawn Fowler, founder of Tone Tree Music which curates and releases each album. “The first album in 2012 was inspired by all the great artists I was fortunate to work with and my desire to find a platform to tell more people.” This new project highlights some of the leaders in Nashville’s independent music community and many of the new artists who are setting a new course.
