(New York, New York) – Brooklyn-based and self-proclaimed “Nu-Wop” act PEP release their anticipated full length record, …Presenting Pep! The kitschy, tongue-in-cheek album includes singles, “Get Physical“, “As Lovers” and “One Of These Days (I’m Gonna Be Your Girlfriend)” and “Run“.

Drawing inspiration from girl groups like Shangri-Las and The Supremes, soul artists like Jackie Wilson and Ben E. King, as well as Paul Simon, Madonna and Michael Jackson, it’s no wonder that PEP refers to their music as a “cunning blend of musical flavors that serves to titillate the earbuds.”
If you didn’t think PEP could get anymore dynamic, their live show grows to a spirited 7-piece collective comprised of frontwoman Karys Rhea, two back-up singers (Ilana Webber and Morgan Lynch), and four male accompanists.
Give it a listen, and hear why audiences all over have been loving PEP.
“Eliciting similar strong emotions [to the theme songs of ’70s and ’80s sitoms] is the music of Brooklyn-based sextet PEP, an unabashedly retro band. They first caught our attention in April with the perky ‘As Lovers’ song that introduced us to their masterful reinvention of ’50s doo-wop. While still honoring the classic sounds of The Shirelles, The Ronettes, and The Shangri-Las, the band have added spice to give the genre a little edge and an extra bit of dreaminess.”
“PEP’s new video for their song ‘Get Physical’ is so sweet it will give you a toothache…aesthetically, the video is a pastel wonderland…”
– IMPOSE MAGAZINE
“With a sly, slightly frisky demeanor, the playful harmonies and sparse percussion that begin PEP’s ‘Get Physical’ set a perfect tone for the upbeat track. As spoken moments launch into endlessly catchy choruses, it’s clear that PEP have a way with vintage pop, taking cues from the best but offering up their own style.”
