Formed in Edinburgh in 1976, the Rezillos forged their own distinctive style and sound and shot rapidly to chart success and recognition. Timeless classic songs such as “Top of the Pops”, “I can’t Stand My Baby, My Baby Does Good Sculptures” and “Destination Venus” marked them out as a band with a difference. The unusual combination of female and male lead vocalists, Fay Fife and Eugene Reynolds, coupled with razor sharp guitar, effervescent bass lines and incisive drums delivered an unmistakable sound.

Their seminal album, Can’t Stand The Rezillos, is hailed as an all-time classic. The band are still fronted by Fay and Eugene and accompanied by fellow founder member, Angel Paterson.

Although usually considered a part of the punk rock movement, the Rezillos incorporated eclectic elements of glam rock and 60s pop into their driving yet melodic sound which set them apart from other punk bands.

The Rezillos were the first UK act to sign with influential New York-based Sire Records the hip American label for the emerging Punk and New Wave music scene, already being home to the Ramones and Talking Heads.

The band’s debut chart album “Can’t Stand the Rezillos” is widely regarded as a classic of both Punk Rock and New Wave. The quintet reached the Top 20 of the UK chart with “Top of the Pops” in 1978.

Still in demand, The Rezillos join The Stranglers on tour in March 2015 and The Grand, in association

with Rock Artist Management, is thrilled to present this one-off night of punk/new wave at The Grand on Sunday, March 22nd.

Support comes form Ed Tenpole (formerly of The Sex Pistols) and Tenpole Tudor
