Rongorongo today release a new single and video for ‘Euclid’ – watch here
On this stark and absorbing pop release, the Merseyside six piece invoke the father of geometry and consider accelerating times, out now via War Rooms Records.
Rongorongo probe the coercion of fear on sapient new track ‘Euclid’, a stark pop song that reveals its position via Bowie’s Black Star and late 70’s Cronenberg. Exploring how fear manifests as a psychological motivator, Mick Chrysalid invites the listener to imagine the shape of the future, arguing a trifecta of fear currently fuels division in society,
“The triangle mentioned at the end of the song as well, as the guitar-solo breakdown underpins, the three positions…”
‘Euclid’ describes a self-fulfilling triad of fear which fuels division in society; firstly an internal war of the psyche, the physical wars that have become normalised in recent decades, and the domestic power struggles that war over ideologies within Britain itself.
Merseyside six piece Rongorongo have been bubbling under the surface with an ominous volatility since their swirling inception in 2014. With a taste for macabre sensibilities combined with an uncanny knack for ear tunnelling melodies the ensemble have won keen critical acclaim over the releasee of two prior EPs (Automatic Hypnotist and their eponymous debut).
The band launched the new single ‘Euclid’ on at Buyers Club, Liverpool over the weekend on a night which coincided with Deep Cuts first birthday celebrations. This release accompanies prior single ‘Black Rain’ which was released in late 2017 on War Rooms Records.
