Rough Francis – MSP2 (7" Out 14.4.2015 via Riot House Records)

On April 14th we’ll be comes the next record from Rough Francis, the band led by the three sons of Bobby Hackney of legendary proto-punk band Death (who members of Rough Francis now also play in). They put out their wee received debut album, ‘Maximum Soul Power’  last year. The new 7” two sides scrub up well. ‘MSP2’ is a worthy side a, but ‘Bind Pigs is no b-filler, quite the reverse. ‘MSP2’ bristles with energy and gravitas of blues-soaked punk, robust tale of flux which also breaks up the 4/4 signature nicely. As mentioned ‘Blind Pigs’ starts simpler, then builds, to other-worldy vocals and big guitar chords, which reigns throughout the 4:14 of the song.

The ‘MSP2’ single finds rough Francis on creative form, which will come as not too much of a surprise too many, but to take my word for it, listen below to the title track video, then I hope you agree that ‘MSP2’ vinyl single is worthy of searching out. 8.2/10
