Sainté returns with new single ‘Dora’
‘DORA’
“Sainté occupies a unique space in the U.K. rap scene” The Fader
“Sainté’s rise is one for the books and he’s just added another solid gold chapter” Trench
“Sainté makes a compelling narrator, and projects himself into the upper tiers” – Clash
“Its unique musicality and clever layering is much welcomed and in the bigger picture, serves to broaden the sound of UK rap” GRM
Today, Sainté – an artist leading the charge of the UK rap scene – makes his long-awaited return with new single ‘Dora’. It follows on from last summer when Sainté’s profile elevated to new heights: his first walk for Paris Fashion Week, a world tour for his generational debut mixtape Still Local across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe, and a merging of forces with Antslive on ‘Valentine’s Type Beat’.
‘Dora’ crowns Sainté as lord of the manor: the beat leans into laidback luxury and his verses are closer to silk. The video puts the Leicester MC in the middle of an oil painting. Four-wheel drives through the countryside, parquet carpets and chandeliers and gated driveways: the hallmarks of once-unattainable riches in the hands of an artist who continues to break boundaries and glass ceilings – and all with a sense of humour, too.
It’s the first release since his debut mixtape Still Local which dropped last year. Featuring collaborations with the likes of Potter Payper, Lil Silva and more, the mixtape marked Sainté pushing himself whilst refusing to depart from his ideals; whether that’s the commitment to his work ethic, harnessing of friends and family, or in navigating the positivity you deserve. And whilst music remains a love-letter to all things local – and all things Leicester – Sainté continues to bubble far beyond his neighbourhood; with over 300 million streams, campaigns for the likes of New Balance, Burberry and Jean Paul Gaultier, and famously catching a break whilst a semi-pro basketball player working in Nando’s.
Watch out for more to come from Sainté to follow soon.
