Sainté has today dropped brand new track ‘Arrogant’, which is available now alongside a striking new video. Fresh from breakout appearances at Wireless, Soulection, touring with Denzel Curry and selling out his own run of UK headline dates – including a London show at Hoxton Hall – Sainté also joined Kenny Beats live on stage during his recent London show ahead of more music from the Leicester rapper to follow soon.
Directed by Arran Ashan, ‘Arrogant’ was shot in the stunning Italian setting of Lake Como, and sees Sainté in his own typically-modest style continue his Ones To Watch status. The track follows the fly-on-the-wall feel for recent single ‘East’ – capturing in part his move to London – and ambitious double-A-side ‘Queen x Aim’, which arrived alongside a visual transporting the hood video to a submarine, and Saintés acclaimed 2021 EP ‘Out The Blue’.
Sainté is one of the UK’s most distinct, and essential, young talents. On his own terms, the 22-year-old’s hard graft has already seen breakout single ‘Champagne Shots’ surpass 45 million streams DIY, with 2021 EP ‘Out The Blue’ (featuring Knucks, Miraa May, Odeal and A2) showcasing a nuanced mix of influences: from childhood kingpins like 50-Cent or Jay Z to the contemplative, 90s R&B of D’Angelo or Sade. With songs that are hazy but luxurious, enigmatic but introspective, Sainté is already proving himself to be a multi-faceted artist. The former semi-pro basketball player has also appeared in campaigns for the likes of Louis Vuitton, Billionaire Boys Club, Flannels, Gauchoworld and is passionate about putting his beloved Leicester back on the cultural map. It’s that confidence to try and be the best – and the best version of yourself – that Saintè wants to inject into UK rap today.
