Saoirse signs to Chaos/Polydor Records + shares new single ‘Body Movement’
Hot on the heels of her headline slot at this year’s GALA festival, Saoirse today returns with new single ‘Body Movement’, her debut release on CHAOS/Polydor Records. The release signals a renewed commitment to production for Saoirse. Having spent years shaping dancefloors as one of electronic music’s most respected DJs and selectors, she is now placing greater focus on her studio output, with ‘Body Movement’ offering the first glimpse into this new creative chapter.
A longstanding force within global dance music, the Irish-born DJ, producer, trUst label boss and Body Movements founder has spent two decades building dancefloors that prioritise freedom and connection. On ‘Body Movement’, she channels that ethos into its purest form in a club-ready anthem celebrating the transformative power of movement.
Built around an unmistakably direct message to “move your body”, the track is both a peak-time dancefloor weapon and a tribute to the community Saoirse has cultivated through Body Movements, the queer-led festival and cultural platform she co-founded in London. Designed with DJs firmly in mind, ‘Body Movement’ reflects the producer’s instinct for creating records that are immediate and emotionally resonant as she explains:
“I’m always trying to create records that are functional first and foremost, tracks that work as tools for DJs and create a reaction on the dancefloor. For ‘Body Movement’ the message is simple: move your body. I think movement is one of the most underrated forms of self-care we have. So many of the DJs and dancers who have been part of this culture for decades seem to age incredibly well, and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. They’ve spent years moving, sweating, dancing and connecting with people every single weekend. The track is a celebration of that. I’m also thrilled to be working with Chaos and Polydor Records on the release and I’m very grateful to have them behind the record like this.”
The release marks a significant new chapter for Saoirse. Since emerging from Dublin’s underground scene, she has become one of electronic music’s most respected selectors, known for fluid, genre-defying sets that have taken her from fabric and FOLD to festivals including Sonar, Horst and Love International. Alongside her work as a DJ, radio host and label head, she has become a leading voice in fostering inclusive dance music spaces through initiatives such as today’s namesake, Body Movements.
With ‘Body Movement’, Saoirse returns to production with a record that encapsulates everything that has defined her career in an unwavering commitment to the dancefloor and a deep belief in the communities that form around it. Stay tuned for more coming soon.
