Cooking Vinyl Publishing is delighted to announce the signing of UK Indie Rock legends Shed Seven. The deal covers the band’s entire back catalogue – including hit singles ‘Chasing Rainbows’, ‘Going For Gold’, ‘Getting Better’, ‘Disco Down’ & ‘On Standby’ – and their new record, ‘A Matter of Time’, via Cooking Vinyl Records which became their first UK #1 album.
Shed Seven comprises vocalist Rick Witter, guitarist Paul Banks and bassist Tom Gladwin alongside new bandmates Rob Maxfield and Tim Wills. Forming in York in 1990, the band rose to huge popularity during the Britpop boom of the mid-90s with their aforementioned anthemic singles, which all reached the UK Singles Chart Top 20. In 1996 alone, they had five Top 40 entries – more than any other act that year.
The band’s catalogue features five studio albums including three Top 10 albums and four Top 40 albums while live, they are currently at the peak of their popularity, selling more tickets than they ever have in their 30-year career. Their most recent headline tour sold 60,000 tickets and their Leeds Millennium Square show last summer sold all 6000 tickets within the first hour of going on sale. The band has also been a mainstay on the festival circuit in recent years, playing to capacity crowds at Latitude and Tramlines amongst others.
