Melbourne indie rockers, Shiva And The Hazards have today deliver guitar fused new single ‘East India Empress’, a mesmeric indie throwback track out March 16th. With their debut EP Future Cult Classics, an eclectic collection of music that transcends decades, set for release on April 6th and will be launching their new wares at Melbourne’s Gasometer Hotel on March 23.
‘East India Empress’ is the first single to be lifted from their forthcoming debut EP, ‘Future Cult Classics’, the new single is said to be only partly indicative of the rest of the tracks on the EP. Produced by the renowned Chris Potter (The Verve, Elbow, Blur, Richard Ashcroft) in his London studios, Metropolis Studios, and Mark Gardner (RIDE), each track has undeniable shoegaze and psychedelic flavours. So no prizes for guessing it would awake With.Guitars attention.
he accompanying video, is also noteworthy, crafted using found footage from vintage Bollywood films, visually arresting, but ‘East India Empress’ is impressive release serving Shiva and The Hazards well, woke us up anyway. 7.9/10
