Showbizheroes return with ‘Thinking & Drinking’ the third single to be taken from their upcoming album ‘Tales From Behind The Curtain’.
More melodic and lighter in tone than previous singles ‘Sinner’ and ‘Climb To Fall’, this Manson-esque song with it’s jangly guitar provides a summertime jolt of pure unadulterated indie pop.
‘Thinking & Drinking’ drives along and minus the darkness of the first two singles it shines brightly. Whereas ‘Sinner’ placed them firmly in the company of Echo & The Bunnymen, this song is oddly remincent of Britpop stars Menswear – and that isn’t a bad thing at all.
The Essex lads have once again proven they are experts at crafting a well written tune. Instantly more catchy than many of their more established contempories, this deserves to be a huge hit and could be the one to really propel Showbizheroes into the mainstream.
I still have only one criticism though, turn up the bloody bass! 8.25
