SINGING ADAMS RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM ‘MOVES’ ON 10TH DECEMBER

How do you follow up an album like Singing Adams’ acclaimed 2010 debut Everybody Friends Now? Go big or go home? Steven Adams did both. The former Broken Family Band man delivers with Moves a brilliant paean to his native London. This second outing for his ‘new band’ sees him grappling with important questions this time around while maintaining his trademark knockout indie stylings and razor-sharp humour.

True to its inspiration, Moves is “a little more ragged” than its predecessor. “We really wanted to make a London album,” says Adams, fascinated by the transformations the capital has undergone since his debut solo record (Problems, released as The Singing Adams in 2004). “The world has changed. London is a different place and I’m a different person.”

A different person he may now be but his songwriting remains every bit as sublime. From Dead End (“the musical equivalent of a showstopper on the Great British Bake-Off,” says Adams proudly) to the heartstring-tugging What Happens Now?, Moves is a record full of inspired melodies and sleepy delirium.
