‘Drug Dealer’ follows slowthai as he navigates what his life could be if he was to take the path given to him. In the video, when asked what he wants to be when he’s older, he replies ‘drug dealer, what else can I do?’ His flow addresses the limitations faced by him and his peers, particularly from working class backgrounds where society neglects building goals and ambitions.

Once again ‘Drug Dealer’, sees slowthai effortlessly tread the line between grime, rap and garage, in an unmistakeably British fashion. His lyrics cut through with a rawness and unflinching honesty, that has the listener hanging on every word and has seen radio tastemakers Annie Mac, Gilles Peterson, Zane Lowe and Benji B all jump on board.
This year has seen slowthai release a string of tracks with supporting visuals including ‘Polaroid’ acclaimed AA-side singles ‘North Nights’ and ‘The Bottom’ + standout track ‘Ladies’ which he performed recently on COLORS as well as being labelled Apple Music’s ‘New Artist Of The Week’. With a once-seen-never-forgotten live presence, a forthcoming sold out headline UK tour and further new music in the pipeline, 2018 looks set to be slowthai’s breakout year.
