There’s just a week to go until Ballet national de Marseille and (LA)HORDE perform their first major presentation in London, an exciting and diverse programme of contemporary dance.

In April, our new season opens with Hofesh Shechter’s From England with Love, a playful and poignant new work performed by Shechter II.

Ballet national de Marseille: Roommates

FRI 1 – SUN 3 MAR

Don’t miss the chance to see Ballet national de Marseille perform an explosive celebration of contemporary choreography. The programme includes pieces selected by their directors, the acclaimed dance collective (LA)HORDE, including a work by (LA)HORDE; hyper-realist dance theatre by Peeping Tom; a contemporary vision from Claude Brumachon and Benjamin Lamarche; the minimalism of Lucinda Childs; and a genre-clashing collaboration between Cecilia Bengolea and François Chaignaud.

Hofesh Shechter: From England with Love

WED 17 –⁠ SAT 20 APR

England’s complex identity takes centre stage in Hofesh Shechter’s compelling new dance work for Shechter II. Performed to a rich score that clashes the refined melodies of English composers with raging rock music, it’s a playful and poignant peek into the heart and soul of this many-faceted place.

LIFT 2024: Nadia Beugré – L’Homme rare

WED 12 & THU 13 JUN

With innovative choreography and staging, choreographer Nadia Beugré brings perceptions of gender, and how we view and objectify bodies, into stark relief.

Part of London International Festival of Theatre.

Bodies become dance battlegrounds in this street dance performance about the highs and lows of ageing in hip-hop, taken from intergenerational dancers’ personal stories.

Qudus Onikeku’s Re:INCARNATION

WED 18 & THU 19 SEP

Nigeria’s celebrated QDance Company explodes onto the stage with this exuberant performance by ten young dancers and two musicians, in an ode to the richness of Nigerian culture.

Chunky Move: 4/4

FRI 8 & SAT 9 NOV

In this distinct dance work, eight dancers perform Antony Hamilton’s blueprint for choreographic precision and physical endurance, creating a stark symphony of mesmerising movement.

Kanan Gill: WHAT IS THIS?

One of India’s best stand-ups returns to the UK with a show about nothing (but what does nothing mean?), with his head buried in the sands of comedy.

The London Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Conductor Edward Gardner join forces with choreographer Wayne McGregor in the dazzling, cross-artform A Body for Harnasie.
