Southern / Sign to Marathon Artists & unveil new track ‘World Don’t Shine’

Independent record label Marathon Artists – home to the likes of Jagwar Ma, Real Lies & Childhood – are pleased to announce the signing of Belfast brother & sister band, Southern.

Central to Southern’s sound are the duelling vocal harmonies of brother and sister Thom & Lucy Southern, their melodies weaving their way through guitar riffs that offer a hint of southern blues influences.

Thom & Lucy Southern, now based in Liverpool, have unveiled their first material for Marathon in the form of new track ‘World Don’t Shine’. Listen below now.

‘World Don’t Shine’ was self-produced by the band and the track’s video premiered on influential US website Yours Truly earlier this month. The video is now live on the Marathon YouTube channel here.

Southern head into the studio this summer/ autumn to begin work on songs for their debut album, due 2014.
